Cabernet Franc 2021
Cabernet Franc is one of the “parents” of Cabernet Sauvignon, a relationship verified by recent DNA profiling of both grapes. Cabernet Franc’s flavor is very similar to Cabernet Sauvignon and both grapes are primarily responsible for the best red wines of Bordeaux, France. The grapes for this reserve wine were sourced from the arid Red Mountain AVA of Washington state. After fermentation and settling, the wine was transferred to French oak barrels for 18 months of aging. We blended in 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from some of our KB Reserve barrels to enhance the wine’s flavor complexity. This wine will age well, with peak flavor around 2026. Only 3,990 bottles were made.
